Based on your music choices, the sound will range from adequate to poor. Hip-hop, techno, or anything with a deep drum/bass beat, will tend to distort in the satellites. Likely they use passive, 6db/octave crossovers, which just aren't designed to roll those deeper frequencies off fast enough. Some songs are un-listenable w/o major adjustments to the equalizer.

I didn't expect earth-shattering bass and amazing clarity, but the sound is really nothing special. The overall volume is definitely below average and will take adjustments with your PC and source program. Normal listening volume is about the max of the system before distortion sets in.

To prevent songs from distorting, I've had to drop the 32hz freq to -12db and 64hz to -6db. My source is my iTunes library.

If you don't set your expectations too high, you won't be too disappointed. But for $27, I guess you get what you pay for.
